Dear Friends and Students,

The Institute of Kidney Diseases and Research Center (IKDRC) was established on October 7, 1981 on an auspicious ninth day of Navratri. Institute of Transplantation Sciences(ITS) was established as its sister institute in the year of 1997. The University establishment and incorporation on 7th Aprial, 2015 as a non-affiliating University known as the Gujarat University of Transplantation Sciences(GUTS) to impart proper and systematic instruction, teaching, training, and research in transplantation and allied sciences in the State of Gujarat; and To confer the status of a University to Smt. Gulabben Rasiklal Doshi and Smt. Kamlaben Mafatlal Mehta Institute of Kidney Diseases & Research Centre - Dr. H.L. Trivedi Institute of Transplantation Sciences (IKDRC-ITS).

Gujarat University of Transplantation Sciences, Institute of Kidney Diseases and Research Centre and Institute of Transplatation Sciences is one of the largest institutes in the world, based on three pillars of service, education and research, catering the needs of all classes of patients with kidney diseases and liver diseases. It is located in Civil Hospital Campus, Asarwa, Ahmedabad in the state of Gujarat of India. Today it stands on the western end of the civil hospital campus, occupying an area of 15,000 sq. mts and total built up area of 20,000 sq. mts, it can boast to be largest tertiary care center of its kind in the world.

The students of IKDRC-ITS and GUTS are its pride and its strength. I hope to be able to interact with both, the faculty as well as the students and will try to address any problem that they bring, to the best of my abilities. It will be my effort that all part of this Institute and University may function together harmoniously. It is my hope and dream that we take this institution to unprecedented heights. Towards this aim, I seek your sincere support.

True to its mission, at IKDRC-ITS and GUTS, Ahmedabad, it has been our constant endeavour to train competent, compassionate and caring throuth excellence in teaching, patient care and medical research.
