The emblem of the Gujarat University of Transplantation Sciences has eight petalled lotus around Lord Ganesha reading a book.
Rooted in the mud, the lotus rises to blossom clean and bright, symbolizing purity and resurrection. It is often compared to the enlightened being who emerges undefiled from the chaos and confusion of the world. The lotus signifies beauty, fertility, prosperity, spirituality, and eternity. The eight petalled lotus symbolically represents eightfold path of goodness to achieve universal harmony. The blue lotus flower is associated with victory of the spirit over that of wisdom, intelligence and knowledge. Hence we selected this 8 petalled lotus.

Ganesha's head symbolizes the Atman or the soul, which is the ultimate supreme reality of human existence, and his human body signifies Maya or the earthly existence of human beings. The elephant head denotes wisdom and its trunk represents Aum, the sound symbol of cosmic reality. Ganesha propels mankind forward on the eternal path and removes obstacles from the way. The noose in Ganesha's left hand is a gentle implement to capture all difficulties. The rosary in his other hand suggests that the pursuit of knowledge should be continuous. The laddoo (sweet) he holds in his trunk indicates that one must discover the sweetness of the Atman. His fan-like ears convey that he is all ears to our petition. Here we have made Ganesha sitting on the book symbolizing that the supreme reality is achieved through perseverance by education and knowledge.
